Do you feel you’re being pulled in a million directions all the time?

When you sit to tackle one thing you can’t focus because you think about your never-ending to-do list that might look like this: return phone calls, pick up dry cleaning, schedule surprise birthday party for husband/wife, finish work presentation, pay bills, and more.

If this is how you’ve been living your life for as long as you can remember I want you to take a moment and PAUSE.

Pause right now and take a moment to notice your breath. Focus your attention on the inhale and exhale of your breathe for about 20 seconds.

From there ask yourself, “In order to feel at peace what is something I need to complete this very second?” Stick to one thing at a time.

Your mind will want to run off and think about your whole to-do list, but it’s important that you only focus on what is key this very second.

If you’re having trouble answering this question, take out a piece of paper and hand write everything that seems important and pressing at this time.

Then highlight everything that can wait and focus on what is important right now.

As you begin to tackle your list and complete your tasks cross them out. For every accomplished task, you will feel a sense of relief and get a quick confidence boost.

It’s important to focus on one thing at a time when you feel overwhelmed.

Whatever is left on your list schedule it in your calendar for a later time.

By scheduling it you’re able to let go and forget about it for now.

Deal with things as they need to be dealt with. It’s important to empty thinking space to focus on what’s important at the moment to avoid overwhelm and simply live in the present moment.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!
